Week 2
Welcome to our Blog!
We have began week 2 and so far the students are very excited and eager. We began news rules and routines this week and will continue to use them throughout the year. I am noticing that students are having a hard time speaking and staying in French, therefore to encourage and motivate them to speak french we began a new system. If I hear the students speaking french in class to each other they will receive a "ticket" (picture at the top). They will then write there name on this sheet and put it in a basket. At the end of every day I will pic 1 at random and they will receive 1 Jolly Rancher. We will try this for a while and see if it works. My goal by the end of the year is for every student to be able to express themselves in French.
We have also began "dictee". They will receive there words every Monday and get all week to practice these words. We will be switching week to week from French to English. This week the words are in French. We have began Etude de Mots which are games/activities for the students to try and learn their words and practice. I am asking parents/guardians to please verify that students are going over these words every single night. If so this will help the students and I make sure they achieve. We also began Daily 5 which we will be doing every single day as well as Etude de Mots. Students so far seem to enjoy. They are placed in groups and different activities every single day which give them the chance to experience every single one.
If you would like more information or have questions, always email or call me.
