Week 3

Week Three Hello everyone and welcome to week 3 blog!  We have a busy, exciting and short week ahead.  Students are beginning to get into their routine and seem to enjoy the flow.  Yesterday we had an exciting day and met our Reading Buddies.  Our reading buddies are in Mlle. Fecho's kindergarten class.  Everyone had one buddy and read to them.  The students loved this experience and will be doing this every Monday.  Some weeks we will have activities, projects and of course reading.  This will help my grade 3's improve on their reading but also conversational skills.  They did AWESOME! I do believe I have the best class :) We are starting our math unit of numbers today and they have also started working in their English and French workbooks.  If students fall behind in class, they will to bring these home.  They are not difficult but these will help with their writing.  I will begin testing students in reading this wee...

Friday!!! (September, 12, 2014)         Happy Friday everyone! This week we completed our first "Dictee" quiz and everyone did well.  We will be completing these every week.  We also began quickwrites in English class.  Students are LOVING this.  They will also get the chance to do this in French class later on.  We are having a lot  of fun and  they are quite the funny bunch.  We began reading and learning about Terry Fox, sounds and hearing and different people from different countries.  We have an interesting year ahead.  Terry Fox run will be on September, 26 in the afternoon.  We take great pride in this day and already half the students brought in a toonie!  All the money fundraised at the school will be going towards the Terry Fox foundation.  Thank you to everyone for your support and cooperation.  Always feel free to message or call if you have questions or concerns. ...

Welcome to our Blog! We have began week 2 and so far the students are very excited and eager.  We began news rules and routines this week and will continue to use them throughout the year.  I am noticing that students are having a hard time speaking and staying in French, therefore to encourage and motivate them to speak french we began a new system.  If I hear the students speaking french in class to each other they will receive a "ticket" (picture at the top).  They will then write there name on this sheet and put it in a basket.  At the end of every day I will pic 1 at random and they will receive 1 Jolly  Rancher.  We will try this for a while and see if it works.  My goal by the end of the year is for every student to be able to express themselves in French.   We have also began "dictee".  They will receive there words every Monday and get all week to practice these words.  We will be switching week to week from French to...
